Position Summary
Two positions to fill
The Program Supervisor, Emergency Management is responsible for supporting and participating in a broad range of activities and services related to the planning, development, and management of the County of Simcoe’s Emergency Management program and assisting local area municipalities. The Program Supervisor will oversee a diverse portfolio of various emergency management and continuity of operations projects.
Reporting to the Manager, Emergency Management, the Program Supervisor provides leadership to assigned project areas and functions as a subject matter expert providing emergency management support to other departments and partners.
The Program Supervisor will work in a multi-stakeholder environment, representing the County of Simcoe Emergency Management program in various groups/committees with internal, inter-governmental, NGO, and outside partners.
Position Requirements
- A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in an emergency management role
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of, and demonstrated ability in, the following competencies: verbal and written communication skills, team work, initiative/self-management, accountability, adaptability.
- Experience working and leading in multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong knowledge of emergency management obtained through a three (3) or four (4) year degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated by a minimum of six (6) years of direct work experience in public sector emergency management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act R.S.O. 1990, and related regulations and Order in Councils
- IMS 200 and EM 200 (BEM) certifications required
- EM 300 (CEMC) required or willingness to obtain
- AEM/CEM, ABCP, IMS 300, and IMS instructor certifications an asset
- Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet application skills.
- Valid G class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Criminal reference check with vulnerable sector clearance.
Salary Range
$93,436.00 - $113,677.00 per annum
