MANDATE:
To manage, direct and lead Children’s Services staff and ensure effective service delivery. To influence direction and develop strong partnerships with licensed child care and early years providers, school boards, and service providers to facilitate ongoing engagement and communication that results in planning processes that respond to the diverse needs of children, families and service providers. Respond in the event of a Peacetime Emergency. To ensure that all employees perform work in accordance with relevant Health and Safety legislation and corporate/departmental policies and procedures.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 4-year University Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field. Minimum 5 years of related experience including supervisory. Demonstrated skills in change management and leadership, large financial portfolio management, program design and implementation, and systems oversight. Requires excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills. Possess the ability to negotiate, problem solve, prioritize, and review, evaluate key programs and related funding. Experience networking and preparing reports for Ministry and service providers and sound working knowledge of relevant and current legislation. A high level of computer proficiency and program related technologies. Experience managing in a unionized environment. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
 
This position is evaluated at Level 11 ($47.50 - $61.30) per hour of the 2024 NUG Salary Grid. Date of opening: December 9, 2024.
