Business Technology Coordinator - HIFIS
Reporting to the Area Manager – Homeless System Team, the Business Technology Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the use and efficiency of the Homeless Individual and Families Information System (HIFIS).

The incumbent will:
  • Oversee the HIFIS system with an awareness and understanding of policy matters as they relate to system operations of HIFIS and the homelessness system and the needs of the homeless population
  • Monitor and evaluate the system and make recommendations to programs and systems
  • Facilitate the timely flow of HIFIS-related information between the Homelessness System, the Region and other governing bodies
  • Provide advice and support related to ongoing maintenance and improvements of the HIFIS system
  • Provide orientation and ongoing training to all users and ensure appropriate and accurate use of the system
  • Collect, review and present statistical data and reports for decision-making
  • Manage all user requests received by reviewing each request and establishing nature, priority and resolution
  • Provide updates on status of requests to users
  • Review access requests and provide user access based on end-user's divisional role
  • Manage and maintain the Systems, Policy and Process library of design, training and business process documentation
  • Provide functional support to end-users
  • Develop and run SQL queries and reports
The successful applicant will possess:
  • A 2-year post-secondary Diploma in Social Services or related field
  • Experience in a social service setting, particularly with homelessness programming
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation
  • Experience with performing statistical analysis and various calculations
  • Experience in providing functional support to users and maintaining all records for use and training
  • Knowledge of database relationship and configurations and asset management processes, practices and approaches
  • Ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships and manage multiple projects/requests simultaneously
  • Experience working with fueling software, asset management systems, Microsoft Office Software
  • The ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • A valid Ontario Class G Driver's License and the use of a reliable vehicle
CUPE 1764 Salary Grade 5
This position is with Salary Grade 5 and will be paid at the following hourly rates:
  • Start: $37.47 - Six Month: $39.55 - Job: $41.63
Conditions of Employment
Prior to the start date, the successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check dated within two (2) months from date of hire. Proof of education, qualifications and any other job bona fide requirements will also be collected.
