MANDATE:
Reporting to the Children’s Services Manager, you will provide leadership, direction, planning, coordination, and customer service for the Children’s Services staff and programs. Assist with the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures and ministry and municipal budgets. Provide support to the Children’s Services Manager, assisting as needed with tasks and projects. Ensure staff are provided with and use the appropriate training and/or procedures, equipment, and material to perform assigned duties. Ensure that all employees perform work in accordance with relevant Health and Safety Legislation.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2-year College Diploma preference given to Early Childhood Education plus be a member or able to be a member of the College of Early Childhood Education.  Minimum 5 years of related experience including supervisory. Possess the ability to identify and analyze continuous changes to ministry legislation, funding, and other initiatives. Demonstrates a high level of knowledge in relevant and current policy and legislation interpretation. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills in matters of confidential and contentious nature. Experience with chairing meetings and giving reports.   A high level of computer proficiency and program related technologies. Experience working in a unionized environment. Must possess a valid driver’s licence.
 
This position is evaluated at Level 7 ($68,468 - $88,325) annually as per 2024 NUG Salary Grid.
