Highlights from OMSSA's 2024 Annual General Meeting

OMSSA hosted its 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) in-person on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at the Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport Hotel in Toronto, Ontario. Eligible voting members were invited to participate in and vote at the live AGM, and OMSSA was pleased to have over 50 voting members present. 


AGM Highlights

  • In his first report as OMSSA President, Henry Wall highlighted OMSSA's strategic focus and achievements in 2023.
  • OMSSA's Executive Director Doug Ball delivered his report, outlining key operational accomplishments for 2023.
  • OMSSA's Treasurer Mike Nadeau shared OMSSA's 2023 financial statements and outlined key highlights in his Treasurer's Report.
  • OMSSA welcomed and introduced new and returning Board Members.
  • OMSSA thanked outgoing Board Member James Lapierre for his leadership and dedication to human services in Ontario.
  • OMSSA is pleased to welcome back several returning Board Members, including: Henry Wall, Stella Danos-Papaconstantinou, Sutha Balasingham, Cathy Cousins, Stuart Beumer, Satinder Klair, Andrew Scavarelli and Polly Smith.

OMSSA's 2024-2025 Board of Directors

The 2024 OMSSA AGM featured a secure online election to fill two vacancies. OMSSA thanks all four candidates who put their names forward to serve on our Board of Directors.

The candidates included:

  • Tyler Campbell, Director of Children and Social Services, City of Greater Sudbury
  • Jabari Lindsay, Director, Income and Social Supports, Regional Municipality of Peel
  • Mike Nadeau, Chief Executive Officer, District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administrative Board
  • Kevin Pal, General Manager, Social Services, Community and Health Services, Regional Municipality of York

Each candidate spoke at the meeting and shared a little bit about themselves and their goals as potential candidates for OMSSA's Board of Directors.

The two candidates who were elected to the 2024-2025 Board are:

  • Jabari Lindsay, Director, Income and Social Supports, Regional Municipality of Peel
  • Mike Nadeau, Chief Executive Officer, District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administrative Board
