We are seeking an Information Technology Support Technician to provide direct technical support and troubleshooting to staff within the District of Parry Sound Social Services Administration Board as well as application installation and maintenance.  This position will assist with the implementation of approved changes to existing infrastructure and technical business practices as directed.

Qualifications
  • Completion of a Degree or Diploma in the area of Information Technology (I.T.) or a related field. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be accepted.
  •  Minimum 2 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting skills and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of I.T. systems and the ability to effectively learn “in house” and “off the shelf” applications.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals LAN/WAN and VOIP.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications M365/O365 and operating systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an end-user customer service orientation demonstrating the ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Knowledge of server architecture in a virtual environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and instruct non I.T. users on a variety of computer software applications and working with a computer environment.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation in written or electronic form.
  • Experience working in a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
  • CompTIA and/or Microsoft Certifications, considered an asset.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Access to use of a vehicle and ability to travel to administer in person support at several locations across the District. 
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for providing support to all staff, which includes providing technical guidance, software support, printing support, network issues and hardware support on a day-to-day basis and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the administration of end user cyber security training and providing updated reports on training outcomes.
  • Assists with the integration of Ministry software/third party software/hardware with existing infrastructure.
  • Responsible for documentation and maintenance of computer hardware and software inventory as well as assistance with overall asset management.
  • Work includes lifting up to 75lbs, crouching, reaching and tasks that are physically demanding.
 
Salary Range: $63,387.00 – 77,958.46/ annually
