ABOUT THE SIMCOE COUNTY HOUSING CORPORATION

We currently have over 1,650 units of Rent Geared to Income and Affordable Housing stock. We are growing with approximately 300 new units under construction within the next few years. 
 
The Manager, Public Housing is an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills in property management, maintenance and high quality tenant relations.

The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced and progressive team of professionals that manages construction and capital projects. Our Community 10-Year Affordable Housing and Homelessness Prevention Strategy outlines steps for the development and implementation of creative solutions for increasing affordable housing for all residents in Simcoe.

Position Summary

As part of the broader Social and Community Services Division, and reporting to the Director, Social Housing, this position is responsible for effectively leading the delivery of County owned housing program (Simcoe County Housing Corporation) and centralized waiting list in accordance with the policies of the County and applicable legislation and standards. This position has leadership impact on a growing and dynamic community housing portfolio.

WHAT DO YOU NEED

Completion of a degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Public Administration, Engineering, Facilities Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of social housing program administration.

Maintenance, repair, and capital planning abilities, leadership and supervisory skills and ability to interpret and apply employment policies and collective agreements. Interpersonal and communication skills; planning and organizational skills; time management and multi-tasking skills.

A minimum of 7 years’ experience in progressively responsible, related positions, including 2 years as a Housing Manager/Administrator or similar position in a large organization.

Experience in the supervision of staff and the administration of employment policies and collective agreements is required.

COMPENSATION

$101,935.00 - $122,324.00 per annum
