Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Human Services provides strategic oversight and guidance in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of programs and services provided by the Oxford County Human Services department. Human Services administers financial support programs including Ontario Works, helps clients find suitable and stable shelter in the community, and manages the licensed childcare system and EarlyON program in Oxford County including providing subsidies and special needs resourcing for those who qualify. As a member of the County’s Senior Management Team, the Director is also responsible for organizational leadership and broadly supporting all County programs and services while leading their adaptation, as appropriate, to meet community sustainability and service excellence aspirations.

Along with your post-secondary education in Social Work, Social Sciences, or a related discipline, you bring demonstrated senior-level experience leading and supporting the delivery of human services. Your experience with building community-based partnerships and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders makes you a strong candidate. Knowledge of relevant legislation, acts, statutes and regulations related to municipal and program-specific operations is necessary.
