Province Releases Details on Mental Health and Addictions Plan

March 3, 2020

The Province released its Roadmap to Wellness: A Plan to Build Ontario's Mental Health and Addictions System, laying out the framework for Ontario's mental health and addictions system, including creating a Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence, and providing cognitive behavioural therapy to Ontarians in need age 10 and up.

The new Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence will be the coordinating, central provincial body to enable and drive the effective implementation of the plan's four pillars:
  1. Improving quality;
  2. Expanding existing services;
  3. Implementing innovative solutions; and
  4. Improving access.
As part of the third pillar, implementing innovative solutions, Ontario will launch Mindability, a program that will provide cognitive behavioural therapy to Ontarians aged 10 and up with the aim of building the lifelong skills they need to manage their mental health and overall well-being.
