Manager, Housing Development (District of Muskoka)

The District of Muskoka is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our Housing team on a permanent full-time basis as Manager, Housing Development.  

Reporting to the Director, Programs, the Manager, Housing Development is responsible for the development and delivery of affordable housing programs through community outreach, meeting program performance outcome targets, developing improved work processes and encouraging affordable housing programs and opportunities across the District. 

The Manager, Housing Development is responsible for, but not limited to:
• Coordinate all aspects of the affordable housing programs through: legislation, policies, guidelines, standards and legal agreements with all parties who are recipients of financial assistance related to housing affordability. 
• Assist in developing program targets and goals.
• Solicit, receive and assess funding and subsidy applications to increase the supply of new affordable housing and enhance affordability within the existing non-profit and private sector housing stock.  
• Develop relationships with public and private entities to promote affordable housing options within the community. 
• Ensure qualified clients are referred to available affordable housing opportunities as they arise; and
• Provides ongoing support and guidance to the Muskoka Housing Task Force

What you will bring to us

As a self-directed, innovative and out-of-the box thinker, you will have proven ability to accomplish performance objectives in a corporate environment with excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, technological and analytical skills. You will have knowledge of construction, development and rental practices, and affordable housing programs and service, with local knowledge and experience being an asset. 
On the practical side, you will be a graduate of a three-year post-secondary program in social or human services or equivalent, a university degree is considered an asset. You will have three (3) years of directly related experience in areas such as project development, contract administration, marketing and community outreach and people management or supervision.

The Annualized Salary range for this management position is: $71,457 - $84,132
