The Children’s Services Case Manager is responsible to determine the eligibility of applicants for child care fee assistance and manage an ongoing caseload in accordance with provincial legislation and municipal policies; ensuring financial accuracy and accountability of files; ensuring the needs of applicants receiving fee assistance are considered as per their enrolment requirements and counselling families to ensure successful child care placements. Inform service providers of municipal practices and reporting requirements and provide program information to community agencies and the general public.
We require an individual with a two-year college diploma in Early Childhood Education with two (2) years related experience. Requires knowledge of relevant legislation including the Child Care and Early Years Act. The successful candidate must have basic knowledge in word processing and database software and systems; knowledge and experience working with provincial databases would be an asset. Must demonstrate strong organizational, time management and problem solving skills; the ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate a number of tasks at one time, meeting program outcomes and performance standards; and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must have excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and tact. Must be a team player with a commitment to quality customer service. Must be a registered member in good standing, or be eligible to register, with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
