Housing Planning and Policy Analyst (Two-Year Temporary) (County of Wellington)

Housing Planning and Policy Analyst
 
This position reports directly to the Director of Housing and is responsible for research, analysis, and policy development for affordable/social housing/homelessness policy, strategies and programme initiatives of the County of Wellington Consolidated Municipal Service Manager (CMSM).
 
The minimum qualifications for this position include:
  • Undergraduate degree in public policy or related public administration.
  • Over three years of related experience in public policy administration and human services, with social housing preferred. 
  • Experience with procedures development, research and related policy analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the interrelationships between various levels of government, including Municipal/Provincial and Federal Housing Service Programmes and related legislation and requirements.
  • Ability to recommend changes to established methods or procedures, such as providing recommendations for changes to systems and policies for social housing initiatives.
  • Application of knowledge to analyze complex issues required.
  • Ability to facilitate and engage with cross-sector functional groups.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including developing and delivering presentations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database software.
  • Knowledge of community agencies would be an asset.
  • Valid driver’s licence (minimum G2 Class) and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • All new or rehired employees must provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 and agreement of the County of Wellington vaccination requirement, prior to commencing employment.

This position offers a benefit package and a salary range of: $69,323.80 - $80,808.00 (2022 Union Compensation Grid), based on a 35 hour work week.
