Ontario Works Agent (County of Renfrew)

Ontario Works Agent - Department of Community Services
Contract up to 1 year – Renfrew Site

Reporting to the Ontario Works Supervisor, the Ontario Works Agent determines eligibility for financial assistance and stability supports related to the needs of individuals and families while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in Social Sciences.
  • Minimum one-year related work experience (i.e. social services/homelessness advocacy/outreach counselling).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • High level of initiative, innovation, and independent judgement and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to conduct research and complete written reports, compile advanced statistical reports, and prepare and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented organization.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
Compensation: $35.00—$39.94 per hour, no benefits.
