Dates Announced for Return to Schools

The Province announced that elementary and secondary schools in remaining public health units will return to in-person learning on Monday, February 8, with the exception of Peel, Toronto and York, which will resume on Tuesday, February 16. 

The return to in-person learning will be supported by enhanced safety measures, including targeted asymptomatic testing in schools and child care settings at the direction of local public health units.

Emergency Child Care

In all areas, emergency child care will continue to operate until the last business day before in-person learning resumes (February 5 and 12, respectively). The Province also announced that emergency child care will be extended to additional frontline workers in Toronto, York Region and Peel, including essential construction workers and some transit workers.
