Manager, Public Housing (County of Simcoe)

Position Summary

As part of the broader Social and Community Services Division, and under the direction of the Director, Social Housing, this position is responsible for effectively managing the delivery of County owned housing program (Simcoe County Housing Corporation), centralized waiting list & rent supplement programs in accordance with the policies of the County and applicable legislation and standards. 

Position Requirements

  1. Completion of a degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Public Administration, Engineering, Facilities Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in progressively responsible, related positions, including two (2) years as a Housing Manager/Administrator or similar position in a large organization.
  3. Experience in the supervision of staff and the administration of employment policies and collective agreements.
  4. Strong knowledge of social housing program administration.
  5. Strong leadership and supervisory skills and ability to interpret and apply employment policies and collective agreements.
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Strong planning and organizational skills.
  8. Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
  9. Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet application skills.
  10. Valid G Class Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  11. Criminal reference check with vulnerable sector clearance.
  12. Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.

Compensation Information

$101,935.00 - $122,324.00 per annum
