Reporting to the Supervisor Support Services, the incumbent provides program and business support to the
Health and Human Services commission programs; Ontario Works, Homelessness and Children’s Services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Utilizing both provincial and municipal software and knowledge of Health and Human Services programs, the incumbent is responsible for but not limited to, processing financial transactions, including issuing Ontario Works and trusteeship cheques, accounts payable, revenue deposits and journal entries, as well as reconciling revenues and expenditures for provincially-funded service contracts and monthly provincial Subsidy Claims.
  • The incumbent is responsible for the coordination of all purchasing/ordering, including processing requisitions and purchase orders, maintaining inventory of all stock, equipment, forms and publications, and the coordination of services, repairs and supplies for the Commission.
  • Protecting confidentiality is imperative, as the incumbent will have access to files and information of an extremely confidential nature.
  • Detailed knowledge of both computerized and manual accounting systems, including processes and practices, and an excellent knowledge of relevant software programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Applicants must have strong communication skills both in the written and oral form and demonstrated organizational and analytical skills.
  • Initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to cope with multiple demands and meeting simultaneous deadlines are necessary.
  • Applicants are required to have a secondary school diploma as well as the successful completion of a minimum one-year post-secondary certificate, specializing in accounting or business administration with a strong financial curriculum or equivalent.

SALARY RANGE: $24.87 to $26.44 per annum (based on 35 hour a week) plus benefits
