Pathway to Potential (P2P) Team,

The City of Windsor’s, "Poverty Reduction through Social Investment,” plan created the framework for an asset-based system of services for residents who are low income.  This 9-point plan creates opportunities for personal, neighbourhood and community development. The plan, while rooted in foundational municipal services such as: OW, Employment, Children’s Services and Housing, expands to include financially supported access to recreation programming in Windsor and Essex County, subsidized access to Transit Windsor, and neighbourhood programming in targeted areas.   The team includes City staff across departments, the United Way, Community Housing Corporation, University of Windsor, Family Services Windsor Essex and other service providers.  The plan challenges each department in the municipality to examine initiatives through a 'poverty lens', thereby increasing a corporate commitment to service system development and human services integration.
