    Permanent Full Time 

    The Controller is responsible for the demonstration of the Mission, Vision and Values at work within the Corporate Finance Department.  Reporting to the Chief of Corporate Strategy and Human Resources, this position provides a strategic role responsible for optimizing financial systems and processes to improve operational and financial performance.  You will work in collaboration with the Director of Finance as a member of a dynamic team of individuals that provide corporate accounting support for multiple companies.  This individual will have oversight of the Financial reporting and accounting systems of both Good Shepherd Centres and Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes corporations. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to quickly understand business processes, determine risk implications and analyze complex program data. Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills are needed to facilitate variance and trend analysis reporting.  Attention to detail and ability to solve problems and multi-task in a fast paced work environment is vital to execute time sensitive deliverables.  

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate progressive experience in a finance role along with a recognized accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA).  Previous experience working in the non-profit social service and/or housing sector would be an asset.  Advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases along with experience in systems change management and administrative working knowledge of Dynamics GP software is essential.  A valid drivers’ license and access to a vehicle is required.
